Progressive Chess
Progressive Chess is an exciting variant where the number of moves increases each turn. White starts by making one move, then Black makes two moves, White makes three, and so on. The goal is still the same as in regular chess – checkmate your opponent.
Here are the key differences:
- You must escape check on the first move of your turn. If you can't, it's checkmate.
- En passant captures are allowed, but only on the first move of a turn.
- If there are 10 turns in a row with no captures or pawn moves, the game is a draw (like the 50-move rule).
- If a player has no legal moves and is not in check, it’s a draw by progressive stalemate.
